The question I want to ask in this series of articles is:

How are you preparing for the new year?

That’s the question I want to ask you in this series of articles.

Maybe you’ve survived, just scraping through the year, due to unforeseen circumstances, tragedies, and unexpected storms of life.

Maybe you’ve thrived this year, accomplishing most if not all of what you wanted to accomplish.

Or, maybe you’re somewhere in between!

Regardless of where you are, I wonder:

Have you taken time to take stock and reflect on this past year?

Have you taken time to be grateful for all the blessings, victories, and accomplishments that you’ve been part of this past year?

And have you been able to take time to see what didn’t go so well and how you may/may not have contributed to those things not going so well? And what you could do better this next year?

Remember: we can’t always change circumstances, and we certainly can’t change other people, but we can always take time to think and reflect on what we can do better.

If you haven’t already, here are some suggestions for this next few days if you haven’t taken stock yet:

Ponder and write out things you’re grateful for from this past year as well as things you think went well – goals, healthy habits, good routines.

Reflect and write out goals you didn’t accomplish, areas you felt stuck, or unhealthy habits you’d like to address for the coming year.

Set some intentional time and space aside so you can start to write out some goals or ideas you have for your life this next year.

Have a thriving year ahead!
